Electronic Monitoring

Electronic monitoring programs can help lower public safety expenses for taxpayers. They can also reduce jail populations and require offenders to pay for services. Electronic monitoring can lead to increased public safety due the fact that offenders are supervised using the latest monitoring technologies and strategies.

The monitoring system, also known as “house arrest,” is often utilized by the court as an alternative to “traditional” incarceration or jail time. While on electronic monitoring, the individual must remain at home at all times except as provided by the court’s Monitoring Officer. Conditions of electronic monitoring are determined on a case by case manner.
