Probation
The Probation Department offers a variety of services to the court and surrounding community. Offenders first need to be deemed appropriate for this program by the Court. The process begins with a referral to a pre-sentence officer who then conducts an in-depth investigation. The investigation is used to compose a report that assists the Judge in fashioning a sentence. The report affects restitution to victims, rehabilitates, and provides assistance in obtaining many valuable services. Participants in the probation program will have access to counseling services, community service programs, behavior modification, and are systematically monitored in an effort to help the offender fulfill his or her obligation to the community.
